How to tie a Button Knot

The button knot is created by combining the wall and crown knots to produce a tight ball that can act as the perfect stopper for soft shackles or as a handle at the end of control lines. Click the play button below to learn this knot in a matter of minutes.

The button knot is our preferred knot for soft shackles as the tails of the rope can be tucked into the main cords of a stronger soft shackle which gives you four rope widths at the part of the shackle were the most load is placed. If you are using the button knot on your soft shackles it is important to tighten the knot as much as possible before tucking in the ends, break tests prove that tighter you get the button knot the stronger your soft shackle will be.

The video below shows you how to tie a soft shackle with a diamond knot, replace the diamond with the button knot for an even stronger, stronger soft shackle.
