SLYC Frosties Regatta 2018

Strangford Lough Yacht Club (SLYC) hosted the annual Frosties Regatta over 5 weeks in September through early November, with over 50 entries from clubs all around the lough the Frostie once again provided a great platform to close out the year of racing on the lough. 

The boats were treated to close racing across a variety for wind ranges over the 5 weekends. The results were close across all fleets with a many of the classes decided by the narrowest of margins. 

After a string of second place finished Team GTR finally made it to the top step of the podium in ICR 1, with Le Basculer a point behind after nine races and What's the Rush II a further point back. It was a tense wait to see the final results after GTR was over the line in Race 10 which resulted in a last place finish. Disappointment turn to joy when the team got ashore to find out they had taken 1st place by just 4 second over Movistar Bleu in Race 9 earlier in the day, effectively making the last heat a dead rubber.
