GTR Racing :- East Down Yacht Club to Peel

Saturday 2nd July 2016 marked East Down Yacht Clubs annual race from Strangford Lough to Peel Harbour on the Isle of Mann. Around 12 boats assembled on the start line only to be told the race was cancelled due to the high winds and rough conditions out on the Irish Sea.

Team GTR was really up for the crossing, after a quick crew vote we took the unanimous decision to head over anyway. The wind moderated on the way out of the lough and we enjoyed a fantastic ride across the Irish Sea, surfing down the waves at up to 16 Knots.
